University of Wisconsin Madison ArboretumThe 1,713 acre Arboretum is a renowned historic research site for ecological restoration and including the oldest and most diverse restored ecological community collection in the world, including wetlands, various forest types, savannas and tallgrass prairies. The Arboretum borders the Lake Wingra and is open for group tours and the general public. It offers lectures and educational programs to families, groups and individuals of all ages. The Arboretum is an extension of the University of Wisconsin-Madison system.
Hours -Arboretum trails and the Visitor Center parking lot are open year-round from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
